Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance do we need to book? →
We generally recommend booking 2–4 weeks in advance for standard events. However, if you are caught short, we offer a Last-Minute Call-Out service for staffing and bar solutions secured within 24 hours of notice, subject to staff availability.
Do you supply the alcohol, or do we buy it? →
We offer both options depending on your license requirements. For private events, clients usually supply the alcohol to save on costs, and we provide a tailored shopping list. For commercial activations, we can arrange full beverage procurement through our consultancy network.
Do you travel outside of Auckland? →
Yes, Barethren is based in Auckland but we are fully available for travel across New Zealand by arrangement. Travel and logistics fees are calculated transparently based on your event location.
Are we insured? →
Yes, Barethren has public liability insurance with Bizcover.
What equipment do your bartenders bring? →
Our team comes fully equipped with professional bar toolkits, including shakers, strainers, jiggers, pourers, and ice scoops. If you require mobile bar structures or glassware hire, we can scale those elements into your custom package.
Can we come dressed up? →
within reason... otherwise we will be wearing business wear with protective aprons.
